Edits of this week
This week, I added some information about my favorite foods to my Wikipedia assignment. I added information about Tonkatsu in English Wikipedia and Korean version of Wikipedia about egg roll and tteokbokki.
Tonkatsu is one of my favorite Japanese food. Tonkatsu has been modified to suit the taste of Koreans as it enters Korea. As a result, people can enjoy various versions of Tonkatsu dishes such as Kimchi stew and Tonkatsu together. So I uploaded more information about Don God to the English version of Wikipedia.
The most impressive thing about adding information about tteokbokki to the Korean version of Wikipedia was the fact that it is a Korean food, but more information about tteokbokki was added to the English version of Wikipedia. Usually, food and culture are common only when more information is posted on Wikipedia in the country concerned.
Here's the question: Tteokbokki is Korean food, but it has more information in English Wikipedia than in Korea. Why is the subject of a country's food or culture more informative on other countries' Wikipedia sites than its Wikipedia sites?
