#3, Why do you think people use Wikipedia? why do others write for it
W3. Why do you think people use Wikipedia? why do others write for it
Why do you think people use Wikipedia? I think most of Wikipedia users are to get information. I also used Wikipedia only to get information before this class. But I can find information because many people are entering it. who are they? and why they do like that?
I think Wikipedia was created using the characteristics that people want to share their knowledge and their altruism. It was possible because many people who wanted to share knowledge gathered together to gather a lot of knowledge and interact with each other.
Wikipedia is a successful example of Linus's rule "given enough eyeballs all bugs are shallow"
What is the Linus's rule? it assume the acceptability and openness of people.
Everyone should have the openness to disclose their information With pleasure. And It also needs to be acceptive to other people's information. With this assumption, Web 2.0 could start. It was a great success.
Our lives are affected a lot by Web 2.0. The Wikipedia and blog we are doing are also Web 2.0. It is a real collective intelligence!
I wonder which direction web2.0 will develop and which direction is desirable. what do you think about this?
