Blog assignment 2. how can korea benefit if the English language coverage of korean topics on wikipedia is improved?

1. summary

Wikipedia has different amounts of information in each country. Therefore, a culture or country that is well known to people has a lot of articles.
Wikipedia has been popularized as a part of collective intelligence, but there are still insufficient parts.
Unfamiliar social, cultural and economic aspects lack information
Therefore, people can not get to know about any culture or phenomenon because wikipedia does not have any information.
There are many issues and cultures in Korea, but there have not been many in Wikipedia yet.
If someone searches for Korea, you will feel uncomfortable because there is not much information in Wikipedia.
The more wiki edits you make to Korea, the more people will know about Korea, which can be a factor in the national competition.
If there are many Wikipedia articles translated into English for Korea, many people will know about Korea accurately and deeply, and this will affect other countries as well. I do not think Korea is an influential country in the world yet, but I think that if there are many articles about Korea in Wikipedia, it will affect culture, society and law of other countries

I think Wikipedia is similar to an encyclopedia, and I think it contains a lot of information without a shortage. However, since Wikipedia is made up of collective intelligence of people, I did not know that there was enough information yet. Wikipedia has a lot of information about something popular, but I can see that it is not enough articles.


3. discussion
What country does many people know but does not have much information on the wiki? And why? I think such a country is a country with less issues and impacts globally.

    I read your article well. In response to your discussion, I think the country is Korea. Because Korea has many portals to find information other than Wikipedia. There are Google, Naver, Namu wiki, and so on. Korea lacks the freedom of panorama compared to other countries. That's why information is obtained by using portals that are infinitely less copyright conscious than Wikipedia, which has strict copyright rules. That's because the information is easier to obtain.That is why Korea thinks Wikipedia information is small.

In  the Reagle  Chapter 3-4, the troll and the ignore rules were impressive.  Troll is the one who destroys teamwork and leads the team to ruin.  Trolls, which are negative characters, help develop Wikipedia. Wikipedia finds the wrong information generated by the troll. And the information is modified by others. In that process, it results in more information production. There is an outlaw, similar to a troll. The lawless ignores all regulations, including copyright and reference. Like Trolls, they help develop Wikipedia. They are free to edit because they are out of regulation. The free edited content is modified by others, including attaching references and deleting content that is caught in copyright issues. Wikipedia develops as it takes care of these types of people.

Discuss Reagle’s chapter 5 It is hard to understand this chapter. When I used the Wikipedia, I thought I don't need to group communication. Because the communication space is hidden, so I don't find it. I'm hard to find the communication space on Wikipedia. I think that the Wikipedia communication is not good at working in Korea.
