Discuss Reagle Chapters 1-2

Wikipedia starts with a vision 'the free encyclopedia that anyone can edit'. From this vision, Reagle Chapters talk about some points. First, the good faith collaborative culture. Second, what the passion for global high accessibility made.

First, Wikipedia has a good faith collaborative culture. Because it has 'Wikiquette', and the rules are added and revised by Wiki people, and the love/mercy prevailed in here makes the unique culture. When people gathers in, it is likely to be a war in some cases, but with the settled rules and warmhearted people, Wiki makes the environment similar to the ideal human community-with honest argue, talk between Wiki users.
Second, Wikipedia is made with the passion for global high accessibility for information. The passion to the accessibility made more results including FOSS-Free and Open Source Software-, but as a result, Wikipedia is the most recent version of the pursuit to global access of info. From the idea, formed 'Nupedia', the wiki-based encyclopedia, based by the thought of 'global accessibility of information'. But it was a failure because of the restrict only to the professional information which Wiki doesn't applies. In short, Wikipedia is the redeemed version of Nupedia.

There are more specific stories in the chapters, but I summarized some points that I think is the main. The thing I found interesting was the surprising environment that Wikipedia is making up. Compared to the number of users, the overall atmosphere and the civil recognition is great. It is really an ideal society, I think.
And also, I have some questions. I read the sentence, 'Wiki is partially constituted by centralization.' and 'Wiki's rate with negative arguing-somehow hold up- is increasing faster than the info edits.' If so, do you think Wikipedia needs more regulations about centralization for the better quality progress of Wikipedia?
