W6.How important is it to be civil online on the Internet?

Protecting citizenship on the Internet is very important. It is perhaps more important than we keep basic etiquette in reality, not the Internet. Because we don't meet face-to-face, we don't know each other's identities online, and we don't know each other at all about nonverbal expressions such as facial expressions. The standard of general manners varies from person to person. But civil rights are the same rules that are equally granted to everyone. How do I impose the same rules on everyone? It can be said to be a special attribute online, controlled by the administrator of the online space. The same applies to Wiki. As someone introduced it in a previous blog post. But nevertheless, there are people who don't protect their citizenship. So what punishment should we impose on them? Wiki is a world-class history book and dictionary that all citizens can participate in. The point here is not 'global,' but 'citizens can participate.' Only those who keep the basic courtesy and rights of citizens can participate in this huge project (to write Wiki in my own language). In fact, I think that the civil attitude of those who participate in Wiki is of course basic, so it is difficult to specify its importance. But that's why we need to think more about this. With this thought, I have a question. Unlike other sites, Wiki has little administrator involvement.(Excluding process operations.) In this cases, should we keep the basic citizenship offered by the administrator? Or should this part also be led by users?

  1. I think it is important to maintain and develop basic manners through discussions with other users. Users of Wikipedia think they are kind to each other compared to other communities. The secret is that users can substitute a specific person for a certain 'trolling' after a sufficient discussion process. Is this the civil of Wikipedia that can be kept in the lead without the supervision of the operator?
