Why do you think people use Wikipedia? Why do others write for it?
As we all know,Wikipedia is an online encyclopedia project. Features free content,
free editing. It is currently the largest and most popular reference tool on the global network and is ranked among the top 10 most popular websites in the world.Wikipedia allows users who visit the site to freely view and modify the content of most pages. The total number of editors for the entire site has exceeded
1 billion. Because Wikipedia is able to sort out the information related to recent events very quickly, and anyone can dig deeper into the data content, many people are gradually considering Wikipedia as a news source. At the same time, in order to facilitate the general students or the masses to understand the contents of the entries, most of the entries in Wikipedia explain the complex concepts in simple
words.Wikipedia is available in multiple languages and can see different perspectives. In addition to the protected entries, Wikipedia can be edited without registration and displayed directly on the page after saving. Wikipedia has a stricter review of copyrights. Most of the pictures are works owned by users themselves, and watermarks of other websites are rarely seen. All Wikipedia content is written by the user, making it impossible to pay for modified terms and locked terms.I think these are the advantages of Wikipedia and why people are still using and writing Wikipedia.
I think you summarized the advantages of Wikipedia well. True, Wikipedia has many users and a prompt system which makes it a new network service for people.
ReplyDeleteAnd it was a interesting point that the 'strict copyright system' helps Wikipedia to be maintained. I haven't thought about this point. But it is really reasonable I think, because if the copyright system was just a smash, maybe Wikipedia soon at the same time would have collapsed. No cites, references, common creatives... it is similar to a disaster I guess.
I would like to ask one thing. I think the copyright system is good enough now. What do you think about it? Do you think we need more strict copyright system in Wikipedia?
I didn't know Wikipedia was a website big enough to top 10 all over the world. That's probably because Wikipedia is available for free and there is a variety of information. Also, as you said, it seems to be possible to globalize because Wikipedia offers a lot of languages. Sometimes I don't have the Korean Wikipedia information I want. However, if you access Wikipedia in other countries, the information is so global that it may exist.
