1.What do I know about Wikipedia and what do I want to learn about it? (MaShang)

Wikipedia is not very popular in my country, which is used by some people but not widely. In simple terms, I will only use Wikipedia in the case that I need to search academic content or writing professional content. I prefer using Chinese knowledge of web site, such as Baidu Encyclopedia, as Chinese my first language. Wikipedia is non-profit, while Chinese knowledge sites, which seek clicks and profits, may cause fees when you want to change some content. When I need to complete professional articles, I want the very rigorous evidence. Therefore, I will use Wikipedia, which is more professional and rigorous in my opinion, while the answers of Baidu Encyclopedia cannot guarantee the ‘quality’.

I've never thought about contributing anything to Wikipedia, because too many templates make me afraid of it. At the same time, it is very difficult to fully describe something in Wikipedia in a concise and accurate language. Sometimes, writing an entry requires too much information. You need to understand the past and present development of this field. If it is still controversial, then you should disputes must be presented impartially. If it's still controversial, you have to present it impartially.

But I think too much of Wikipedia as the perfect finished product and the object of reference, but I fail to grasp its spirit: everyone can participate in it. So I hope that in this lesson I can learn how to make edits, their steps the rules of wikipedia and so on.  As I gradually understand these issues, I think I can make better use of Wikipedia in my daily life.

I did a lot of research on Wikipedia before this class, and this "Ten Things You May Not Know About Wikipedia" has been very helpful to me, and I think it might make some sense to people who don't know Wikipedia.
