#1 About Wikipedia
1. Summary
2. What was interesting
3. Discussion
Wikipedia is a vast and famous encyclopedia
of online versions, composed of 290 languages (or more). It is one of the most
popular sites around the world because it is composed of various languages. As
it is popular, there is a lot of knowledge and information and many people
visit it. While it is good to simply have a large amount of information, the
free use and citation of Wikipedia seems to be a big advantage. Above all, anyone
can write their (he or she) thoughts, comment, and edit can be a reason for
steady growth.
2. What was interesting
The most interesting thing about learning
about Wikipedia was its characteristic of openness. I felt that the information
about Wikipedia described in the summary was expressed by the word ‘openness’. Before
class, I thought there was an operator in Wikipedia like naver(www.naver.com)
and thought that only operator had access to postings. But I was shocked to see
that it was a site of collective intelligence. The steadily edited texts were
poor at first, but it seemed surprising that the composition of the writings
became more solid as time went by.
3. Discussion
The Information in Wikipedia has been
edited and organized through the brains of many people form the past to the
present. Then, I would like to ask this question.
‘Are the information in Wikipedia 100
percent reliable?'
Actually, no i think.
ReplyDeletethe information of Wikipedia is gathered by common people like us.
In class, because each of us are thinking differently, Wiki users also write and think different each other. someone is agreed that explanations but some are not.
All the information in Wiki is gathered each others opinion, not truth.
So I think 100% accuracy information is not exist. just the more it is added, the more empathize and be common.
I agree with your opinion. In addition, I think that not only Wikipedia, but all the information in the world is not 100% accurate. Because it may be accurate at the present time, but it may be revealed as false information in the future when technology develops.
DeleteSo I think online encyclopedias like Wikipedia are important. It is a space where all information can be quickly updated by collective intelligence in a rapidly changing society.
